ASCCP 2016 Poster: “A self-collection device for cervical cancer: iPap™”
Home » ASCCP 2016 Poster: “A self-collection device for cervical cancer: iPap™”
Poster Summary
In preliminary studies of the iPap it was demonstrated that:
20/22 (90.9%) of self-collected samples were adequate for cytology, indicating that it is “non-inferior” to a clinician-collected sample
More than 88% of respondents indicated the device was easy to use and comfortable
This suggests the iPap can offer women the option of self-collecting a sample on their own without negatively impacting the accuracy of their HPV and cytology screening.
